Resilience: The Biology of Stress Science of Hope Screening

  • Celebration Cinema South 1506 Eastport Dr Grand Rapids, MI 49508 (map)

ACEs are Adverse Childhood Experiences or traumatic events such as abuse, neglect and household dysfunction. These experiences cause toxic stress chemicals to be produced that impact brain development, a child's ability to learn and focus and grow up to be happy, healthy, productive members of the community. ACEs affect all socio-economic classes. Left untreated, they cause heart disease, immune suppression and mental health disorders.

This documentary reveals how we can use stress science to reduce the number of ACEs, create trauma informed organizations and take a multigenerational approach to healing. Film is 60 minutes. Discussion to follow.
